Kirkin’ o’ the Tartan
Each year our church celebrates its Scottish heritage in a Kirkin' o' the Tartan service. This ceremony had its beginning in this country during the early years of World War II, when Peter Marshall preached a number of sermons in support of the British War Relief and the Scottish Clans Evacuation Plan. The popularity of the service caught the interest of many Scots in this country and abroad and soon the Kirkin' o' the Tartan began to be celebrated across the nation in witness to the rich heritage of Scottish Reformation. We are grateful to the many members and friends of this congregation who have provided the tartans we use in this service.
