Interim Associate for Christian Formation and Congregational Care
Richard Aylor is the Interim Associate Pastor for Christian Formation and Congregational Care. Richard spent most of his life in the mountains of Southwest Virginia, where he was raised in Roanoke. He received his bachelor’s degree in history and religion from Emory & Henry College near Abingdon, Virginia. During college, he felt a call to ministry which led him to Seminary. Richard moved to Princeton, New Jersey, where he completed his Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary.
Richard met his wife Elizabeth while singing in the college choir at Emory & Henry, and they married while he was in Seminary. After Richard’s graduation, they moved from Princeton to Wilmington in the summer of 2015. It was then that Richard began his chaplain residency at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where he served for two years. Elizabeth currently is the Coordinator for Community and Donor Relations at Brunswick Community College in Bolivia, NC. They recently adopted their first dog, a hound mix named Martin, and they can often be found taking him on walks at the beach or one of the local state parks. In his spare time, Richard loves reading history, particularly biographies, running, and watching his favorite T.V. shows.

Director of Music
John Tabler, Director of Music and Organist at First Presbyterian. He is a native of Martinsburg, West Virginia and a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory and University of Winchester, Virginia. He also served as Director of Music/Organist in Maryland and West Virginia.
John lives in Wilmington. He enjoys spending time outdoor, sharing meals with friends, family and neighbors by the pool.
One verse of scripture that stands out the most for John is from the gospel of John 15:12-13.
"This is My command: Love one another as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

Associate Director of Music
Benjamin is a proud native Wilmingtonian and a graduate of East Carolina University where he earned the Bachelor of Music Education, with emphasis on voice. There, he was a member of the internationally acclaimed ECU Chamber Singers and ECU Opera Theater. In addition to directing the Chancel Choir at First Presbyterian, he is also the Choral Director at John T. Hoggard HIgh School.
Benjamin enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors and is an avid golfer. He has been married to his wife, Amy since 2000. They live in Wilmington along with their dog, Mollie.
New LIFE Music Director
Jennifer Mueske is the Choral Director at Laney High School, following five years spent teaching Chorus at Roland-Grise Middle School.She has served as the Music Director for Contemporary Worship at Wesleyan Chapel United Methodist Church in Wilmington and has been singing with the Cape Fear Chorale since 2008. A native of Winston-Salem, she grew up in First Presbyterian Church where she found her faith and became active in the music ministries there. It was during her high school years that her love for the Lord and passion for music became clear as she discovered a call to music ministry. Jennifer graduated from UNC Wilmington in 2008 with a degree in Music Education where she also led music for the Baptist Student Union. Jennifer and her husband Nate live in Ogden. Email Jennifer.

Communications and Christian Education Coordinator
Amy maintains the church website, produces printed and digital communication pieces, and offers program support in the areas of fellowship and Christian Education.
Graduating from Oglethorpe University with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, my first career began in the Finance sector. Years later, I reentered the classroom to pursue a Master’s degree in Education from Brenau University and pursued public service involving civic and church groups. Since relocating to the Wilmington area with my husband and three children, I have remained active in public service, participating in volunteer projects and serving children and families of the Cape Fear area as an elementary school teacher. When I am not preparing for an event or planning, I can be found at the beach or on sports fields and gyms cheering on my kids! Email Allison.
