Phoenix Hometown Hires

Phoenix Hometown Hires
First Presbyterian Church is now working with Phoenix Hometown Hires. Phoenix provides guidance and assistance in finding employment for people facing economic challenges. Additionally, they arrange and provide training in interviewing technique, resume writing and other skills necessary to obtain and keep stable employment. In 2015, 104 people were assisted and successful in finding employment. Find out more about Phoenix Hometown Hires on their website.

Currently, volunteers from First Presbyterian provide and serve a buffet style dinner approximately twice a month in our own Boney Hall. The volunteers will work as a team of four and provide an entree, salad and dessert for approximately 60. You will be notified in advance if fewer are expected. Drinks, paper products and utensils will be provided by Phoenix. Volunteers should arrive with food by 5:00pm and serve at 5:45pm. Our volunteers are invited to eat with the clients and then clean up and go home, usually leaving by 7:00pm. If you have questions, you may email Vance Meanor.
